A County We Can Count On.
Our democracy is in crisis, our immigrant neighbors are being torn from our schools and communities, and state and local governments can’t go it alone on issues that matter most to Mainers.
Whether its canceling the ICE contract, affordability, or homelessness, County government needs to step up and do its part.
That’s why I am running for County Commission as a Democrat.

On the Issues
Cancel the ICE Contract
No more County complicity in tearing families apart.
Focus on Affordability
We need an all-of-the-above housing strategy that includes public and social housing.
Clean Elections Reform
Money shouldn’t be a barrier to running for office. Let’s bring clean elections reform to the county!
Humanize Homelessness Response
Let’s shift beyond crisis management and the criminal justice system.
Regional Collaboration
As a county, we can accomplish so much more on regional, public transportation - including studying light rail and expanding trail and bike networks.
Protect Our Water
From Sebago Lake to Casco Bay, let’s protect our clean water and natural resources from exploitation, extractive industries, and PFAs contamination.
ABOUT MARPHEEN
A longtime Portland resident, Marpheen Chann is a bridgebuilder and a trusted community leader running for Cumberland County Commission in the Democratic Primary. Born into a refugee family and later adopted by a white-working class family in rural Maine, Marpheen became the first Cambodian-elected official in Maine in 2021 when he was elected as an At-Large Charter Commissioner for the City of Portland. He also served 5 years on Portland’s Planning Board, navigating tough and complex issues like zoning, housing development, and sustainability.
